A few of the adventures so far…
Diving with cape fur seals (in freeeeezing water) off the coast of Cape Town. Thank you to underwater photographer Roger Horrocks for these (see the links page for more info on him).
Struggling in the agility stakes.
A mild sense of humour failure after abseiling over the edge of a 330ft drop in Borneo’s Gomantong Caves – you can just see the wooden walkway on the cave floor on the right of the photo (and an equally rattled cameraman – Tom Keeling – behind me).
When a South African spider monkey steals the show…
Mud glorious mud. In Borneo the animals gorge on this mud for its mineral goodness. For the benefit of Animal Planet series “In Too Deep” I tried eating it too… and vomited violently.
Never leave your car unattended and unlocked when filming on Cape Point in Cape Town… especially if it’s a brand new Land Rover that’s been leant to you.
I repeat, don’t forget to lock your car – the baboons WILL trash it.
With the gannets on Bird Island – Lambert’s Bay, West Coast, South Africa.
Australia’s thorny devil – probably the southern hemisphere’s coolest animal.
Ignore anyone who ever tells you that the mosquitoes in the Amazon aren’t all that bad.
In Borneo, the going gets tough – and very, very muddy – for cameraman Tom Keeling (left) and director Luke Gallie (right).
